Amanda Selsky is a professionally trained birth doula. She offers compassionate, evidence-based support for clients and their partners, centering trust, presence, and partnership.

With a background in education, Amanda brings a grounded approach to her doula practice. After receiving her BA in English from the University of Virginia in 2017, she followed her love of stories into the classroom. She went on to earn her MA in Elementary Inclusive Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and taught in both classroom and special education settings. 

Her experience as a lead teacher and special educator has given her a strong foundation in family advocacy, active listening, and calm, clear communication. As a result, Amanda is especially passionate about building strong relationships with her clients so they feel informed, supported, and seen as they make decisions about their care.

Outside of birth work, Amanda is a fiber artist with an interest in using natural dye materials like plants and flowers to transform upcycled fabrics into quilts. When she’s not working on a quilt, she can be found hiking with her dog, Juniper.
