Gina Valo is the founder and CEO of Birthingkind and certified labor doula with a passion for improving the birth experience for every client. She places a strong emphasis on evidence-based care, informed consent, and advocacy in the birth room. 

Gina is certified as a doula in the U.S. through ProDoula and Childbirth International and has completed the Spinning Babies® Workshop. She volunteers regularly as a Labor Support Volunteer at Virginia Hospital Center and in Honduras at a large public hospital that averages 50 births per day.

Prior to Birthingkind, Gina served as a healthcare technology executive and White House Presidential Innovation Fellow at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. She holds a Master of Management in Clinical Informatics from the Duke University School of Medicine and a B.A. in Organizational Studies from the University of Michigan.
